I am not sure I found subscription boxes, I think they found me, on social media! I couldn’t escape the ads and I couldn’t resist the boxes.
It was Causebox that got the first click, but quickly my feeds were filled with ads from so many box companies.
During that time, I was actively making changes in my life and home to become more eco-friendly. I discovered I Live Eco. My first box was everything I had hoped for and more!
Shortly after that I discovered Sam & Lance – a Canadian company, which won my heart and my on-going subscription. I love what they stand for and their customer service is outstanding. The products were great too!.
I believe in supporting my community and my country, so I definitely seek out Canadian boxes and reserve a chunk of my budget for them. But it’s hard to ignore some of the wonderful American boxes.
I love to support startups, female owned companies and minority owned companies, as well as companies that give back.
The money I choose to spend has to serve an even greater good – helping businesses grow and ensuring the environment is protected are so important to me.
There have been some frustrations (stay tuned for a future rant about some of the bad experiences I’ve had!) but on the whole, I have loved the products and companies that I am discovering.
Since I started delving into subscription boxes, I have received:
I Live Eco – They are woman owned and they give 1% of their profits to charity.
Sam and Lance – Women owned, they have multiple charities they support.
Balanced Lifestyle – They are female owned and support multiple charities
Brown Paper Packages – Also female owned, they donate to animal charities.
BlisstuBox – husband and wife team, minority looking into which charities they want to support for the next quarter. brand new box
Causebox – A certified B corporation, headquartered in the U.S.
TheraBox – A woman owned company.
FabFitFun Starter Box – A woman Editor-in-Chief and Co-founder, headquartered in the U.S.
I continue to look for companies to support, products I will love and that feeling that comes with knowing I just spoiled myself!
